Labette Center Now Providing Substance Use Treatment in Oswego

Parsons, Kansas – Labette Center is pleased to announce that in addition to the outpatient substance use treatment we provide at our main office in Parsons, we will now have a licensed substance use professional in Oswego as well.  Labette Center celebrates 35 years of service to Labette County this year and provides a full range of behavioral health and outpatient substance use treatment options.  The Center has had an outpatient therapist providing services in Oswego for the last 24 years.  Mark Mikel, LSCSW, LCAC will now be providing this service to the southern portion of the county.  In 2011, Mikel received his licensure for addictions counseling.  He will be able to provide both behavioral health care as well as substance use treatment as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC).

Labette Center for Mental Health Services has four counselors who are licensed in addiction treatment and have 34 years combined experience in the field of outpatient substance use treatment.  Misti Mustain, LMLP, Cendie Shelton, LMLP and Mark Mikel, LSCSW are Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselors (LCAC).  These three individuals are able to provide dual diagnosis treatment options for individuals in need of behavioral health care, substance use treatment, and/or both.  Mark Gardner is a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC).  In addition to treating alcohol and drug addictions, Misti Mustain and Mark Mikel are certified gambling addiction counselors.

In addition to providing outpatient services to Labette County, Labette Center has become an active member in the Labette County Substance Abuse Task Force.  This task force has the mission of providing preventative programs throughout Labette County to curb the use of substances by minors.  The task force is a combined effort of multiple individuals and agencies throughout the county who have come together for a common goal.

“We are pleased to be able to offer the community licensed addiction professionals,” stated Mr. Matthew Atteberry, Executive Director.  “It is wonderful to be able to provide it in Oswego as well.”
